After an intensive RFP process over the late summer-early fall of 2015, SkillWorks recommended a slate of 11 new grantees for one-year awards, approved by our funders in December of 2015. SkillWorks’ newest grantees began their terms on January 1st of this year and are already off to a fantastic start, with a full quarter of project activities under their belts. Early outcomes are looking positive and we are excited to continue working with and monitoring the progress of these projects, and sharing out learnings and best practices.
Earlier this month, SkillWorks held our first grantee convening of 2016, which brought together new and continuing grantees and partners we will be working with this year. As always, it was a fantastic opportunity to get the majority of our grantees together in one room to share updates, spur discussion, strengthen networks, and facilitate knowledge, practice and idea sharing. The meeting was packed full of content and opportunities for interaction, with presentations and discussion sessions on the Signal Success soft skills curriculum, SkillWorks’ youth and young adult investment strategy, IT/Tech industry research results and updates, and more.
