Action Alert – MA Senate Budget Amendments by FRIDAY

The Senate Ways and Means budget is out.  We are pleased to report that YouthWorks was fully funded at $12 Million in the Senate budget.  This is a reminder that your advocacy does make a difference.  Thank you for your work, and thanks to Senate leaders for this important investment!

ACTION NEEDED FOR SENATE BUDGET

Please call your Senator TODAY to ask them to co-sponsor the following amendments:

  • School to Career Connecting ActivitiesSenator William Brownsberger‘s amendment to increase from $2.5 to $5 million.
  • Employment Services ProgramSenator Eileen Donoghue‘s amendment for $9.7 million with $2 million to establish pilot pathways programs that would assist low-income families in accessing post-secondary education and training leading to jobs that pay family-sustaining wages. Amendment would level fund all programs currently funded under this line item.
  • STEM PipelineSenator Karen Spilka‘s amendment to restore Pipeline from $500,000 to $1.5 million.
