Support Pre-apprenticeship Training in theTransportation Bond Bill by Wednesday, 3 pm

If you haven’t already, please contact your state senator and ask him or her to sign onto Senator Ken Donnelly’s amendment to support pre-apprenticeship training programs in the Transportation Bond Bill (H3860).  Amendments are due by Wednesday, March 5 at 3 pm.

  • SkillWorks, along with a coalition of community-based organizations and labor strongly supports an amendment to the Transportation Bond Bill H3860 to add up to $2 million per year for 5 years, or a total of $10 million, to fund pre-apprenticeship training programs across the state.
  • We estimate that $2 million will enable approximately 300 low-income participants each year to complete pre-apprenticeship training, 80 percent of whom will enter union apprenticeship programs in the building trades.
